In this Spotlight Interview, I’m with Dr. Lulu, who retired from a successful medical practice and is now on a mission to help healthcare practices build affirming patient-centered practices for marginalized patients.
Dr. Lulu shares her bold leap from a 30-year medical career into a purpose-driven mission to transform how we support marginalized youth. After witnessing heartbreaking mental health crises—including the suicide of a patient—she followed her intuition and built a private practice exclusively for suicidal youth. When the pandemic changed how care could be delivered, she pivoted again—this time becoming a coach, speaker, and founder of programs that train doctors to create inclusive, affirming care environments.
