Momentum Comes from Action

You’ve defined your first “feel good” goal.   You’re working on getting your confidence rebooted.   Now it’s time to exhibit one of those Tiny Acts of Bravery – take action!

Waiting for the Spark to get moving? DON’T… start the Fire.

How often do we wait to feel ready before we make a move?

We wait for clarity.
We wait for confidence.
We wait for permission.

If I had waited for all that before forming Next Level Me, we still wouldn’t be here.

Here’s the truth: Momentum doesn’t come from thinking. It comes from doing.

If you want to feel more motivated, more aligned, more confident—you don’t need a new plan or a better plan.  You need a step.

Let’s lay out a game plan for how we take that first one together.

Step 1: Action Trumps Inspiration

When we take even the smallest action—especially one aligned with our values—we generate the clarity and courage we thought we needed beforehand.

  • Send an email to someone to tell them the action you’re taking.
  • Name your first bold move and post it where you can see it everyday
  • Share your voice. Give me a shout out to tell me what you’re thinking.

These tiny steps become evidence: “I’m moving” – to others, yes, but most importantly, to YOU!

That evidence feeds your identity. And that identity becomes fuel.

Want to feel like someone who follows through? Start by following through—once.

Step 2: The Myth of Motivation

Motivation is not a switch. It’s not waiting behind a door.
It’s a result.

You move → you feel capable.
You act → your energy rises.
You commit → momentum builds.

Don’t wait to feel motivated. Make a move, take a first step, and the motivation will follow.

Step 3: Celebrate the Micro Wins

Not every step needs to be big. Not every move needs applause…although we’ll help you with that.  😊

But every action deserves acknowledgment.
Even the 5-minute journaling session.
Even telling that one friend what you’re doing,
Even choosing rest when you usually grind.

The more you recognize your motion, the more motion you’ll make.

Try this: Each night, write down in your journal or just make a mental note as you’re closing your thoughts for the night, one thing you’re proud of from your day. No matter how small. This serves as a physical and mental symbol of what you accomplished and feeds your subconscious brain to determine what your next moves are to fuel the next day.

Step 4: Reflect, Adjust, Reignite

Let’s be clear. Momentum doesn’t mean constant speed, so don’t get discouraged.
It means staying in relationship with your goals—especially when life shifts.

When something doesn’t go as planned, ask:

  • “What worked this week?”
  • “What shifted?”
  • “What’s one thing I can change?”

Then adjust accordingly. You’re not behind—you’re learning in motion.

Final Thought: You’re Already in Motion

Let me clue you into something FANTASTIC!!  If you’re reading this, you’ve already taken a step.

You’re already made a move.

You’re already building evidence that you’re capable, consistent, and courageous.

So, here’s your invitation: Pick one action today—one that aligns with the version of you you’re becoming—and take it.

Don’t wait for momentum. Create it.

You’ve got this…cease the moment!
