Client: Chicago Furniture Bank
Service: Pre-Hire Candidate Alignment Assessment (The Builder–Administrator Split)
Strategist: Tammie M. Calys | Organizational Architect
Chicago Furniture Bank was actively evaluating an exceptionally strong external candidate for their Institutional Giving & Communications Manager position. On paper, the candidate brought an impressive background in nonprofit leadership, grant compliance, and senior operations. However, the seat required an intense operational workload over the first six months: auditing legacy processes and executing a complex CRM data migration into Bloomerang.
Despite her stellar resume, CFB realized they needed a broader insurance that there was not going to be a mismatch in the requirements of the role and how the candidate preferred (and was used to) working. They needed an objective pre-hire diagnostic to test candidate alignment before extending an offer.
Tammie Calys deployed a Pre-Hire Candidate Alignment Assessment to pressure-test the work-design fit between the candidate and the operational seat:
“The diagnostic gave us total clarity on hidden work-design risks before extending an offer, protecting both our budget and our candidate’s long-term retention.”
— Mike Carlson, CEO at Chicago Furniture Bank
